Dargaud Publishers announces the death of French cartoonist Jean-Claude Mézières. He was 83 years old. For more than 50 years Mézières collaborated with screenwriter Pierre-Christin for the series “Valerian and Laureline”, published in Dutch under the title “Ravian, the time/space agent”. Mézières and Christin had met as children in an air raid shelter during World War II. Together they made 25 albums, which were translated into 20 languages.
