KOMPAS.com – Since the government launched the program cooking oil one price or subsidy on January 19, 2022, the community welcomed it with great enthusiasm.

With this subsidy, cooking oil price which in recent times has soared, now everything is pegged at Rp. 14,000 per liter.

To get one price cooking oil In this case, people can buy at modern retail, such as at Alfamart and Indomaret, as well as a number of retailers from the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo).

These retail stores include TipTop, Hypermart, Lotte Mart, Superindo, Transmart, Carrefour, Asia Toserba, and others.

Then, when subsidized cooking oil can be bought in traditional markets?

The Ministry of Trade ensures that the subsidized cooking oil of Rp. 14,000 can also be purchased at traditional markets.

For the distribution, the government needs one week to adjust the price, namely on January 26, 2022.

“Traditional markets will be given one week to make adjustments to this policy,” said Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi, quoted from Kompas.com news.

This policy will last until July 2022 or six months from its enactment.

No panic buying

The government ensures that the people’s need for cooking oil is fulfilled. Therefore, Lutfi asked the public not to panic buying, because the stock is large and sufficient for the next six months.

“It is hoped that the public will not buy (panic buying) because the stock of cooking oil is in very sufficient quantities,” he explained.

For the realization of this policy, the government has prepared 250 million liters of cooking oil per month or 1.5 billion liters for six months.

The government also does not rule out the possibility of extending this subsidized cooking oil policy.

The policy is also emphasized by the existence of sanctions for producers or cooking oil companies that sell their products above Rp. 14,000.

“Producers who do not comply with the provisions will be subject to sanctions in the form of freezing or revocation of permits. We remind the government to take very firm steps,” said Lutfi.

Lutfi emphasized that all parties who commit fraud or misappropriation of cheap cooking oil will be brought to court.

“We remind anyone who commits fraud or does anything against the law, the Indonesian government will proceed to the legal process,” he concluded.
