Is Apple hitting other streaming services with this deal?

Every streaming service is looking for new projects. Netflix may be the biggest, but Disney+ continues to grow as well. Amazon Prime is also doing well and will attract a lot of extra members when they get the very expensive Lord of the Ringsseries will be released. Now Apple is taking another big hit.

Apple has made a deal with the well-known production house Skydance, known for the Terminatorfranchise. They will now be making several films for Apple each year. With that, Skydance terminates the similar agreement with Paramount.

Paramount will still be allowed to continue with other major Skydance projects, such as Mission: Impossible, Transformers, Star Trek in Top Gunmovies. They will still co-produce and co-finance together, but Apple will now be the first to get the chance to release other Skydance films.

Skydance has already made the necessary blockbusters for other streaming services in recent years. This is how they already went into business with Netflix 6 Underground, The Old Guard and it yet to appear The Adam Project, while for Amazon Prime they already Without Remorse in The Tomorrow War had made.

More streaming
It is clear that Skydance is focusing more on streaming, possibly because their blockbusters like Terminator: Dark Fate, Gemini Man in Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins were disappointing. Apple is therefore making a big difference by bringing in the production house, since they are now ‘paining’ the competition considerably and can offer several extra blockbusters per year.

Apple has been scoring several prestigious titles in any case lately. For example, the well-received CODA in The Tragedy of Macbeth on their streaming service, and later this year the very promising Killers of the Flower Moon by Martin Scorsese on Apple TV+.
