BEIJING, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) — China’s road freight transportation recorded steady growth last year, with cargo volume growing rapidly by 14.2 percent year-on-year, official data showed.

In 2021, the country’s road freight volume reached 39.14 billion tons, according to the Ministry of Transport.

In December alone, road freight volume in China stood at 3.43 billion tons, the ministry said.

With an increase of 41.1 percent, central China’s Hubei Province recorded the highest growth rate among Chinese regions in 2021, followed by Xinjiang and Qinghai in the northwest. End
