Last year’s champion Roland Garros Krejčíková has clashed with the former world number one and currently 25 WTA players, once in a row, the year before last in Ostrava. “I’m excited to play with her here. It will be a challenge, a battle and I will find out how I am doing,” Krejčíková was looking forward to the match with the Australian Open winner from 2012 and 2013.

Azarenková remembered the Ostrava duel with the Czech player and also expected a challenging match. “Barbora’s rise over the past year and a half is incredible. She can play aggressively as well as mix strokes well. She is a very dangerous opponent,” said Belarus, a 32-year-old.
