3 Stages of Incomplete Metamorphosis Page all

KOMPAS.com – Groups of insects or insects during their growth, from eggs to adults, undergo a stage of development called metamorphosis.

Metamorphosis is a gradual change in form to the adult stage.

Metamorphosis in insects is divided into two, namely complete metamorphosis and metamorphosis incomplete metamorphosis.

Reported from Arizona State University, Insects that undergo three stages of change in their life cycle undergo incomplete metamorphosis.

Meanwhile, animals that undergo complete metamorphosis have four stages of development.

As for incomplete metamorphosis are eggs, nymphs, and adults.

The first stage of incomplete metamorphosis is the egg. The stages after the eggs hatch in incomplete metamorphosis are called nymphs.

Nymphs are basically small versions of adult insects. Nymphs are very similar to adults except that they are small in size.

Nymphs usually have a thin exoskeleton and do not have wings.

They eat the same food as their mother and live in the same place.

As insect nymphs grow larger, their exoskeleton becomes too small and they have to replace it.

As soon as the nymph grows beyond its outer skeleton, it will go through a process called skin replacement.

The new “skin” will harden and become a new exoskeleton.

This will happen many times until the nymph becomes as big as an adult insect.

Examples of insects that undergo an imperfect metamorphosis cycle are true ladybugs, grasshoppers, cockroaches, termites, grasshoppers, crickets, and fleas.
