The Japanese auto giant announced the suspension of 11 factories.

Japanese automaker Toyota again suspends the production of its cars. This time, 21 production lines will be stopped at 11 factories in Japan. This decision is due to another outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

About it writes AMPERCar.

Analysts say the new shutdown will only exacerbate the backlog caused by the global shortage of semiconductors and other components. In January 2022 alone, the total number of unreleased vehicles will be around 47,000. These include the popular Toyota Camry sedans and Land Cruiser SUVs.

Meanwhile, the incidence of COVID-19 in Japan is rising at a record pace, although the number of deaths and daily hospitalizations remains relatively low.
