Suspect arrested for death of Amsterdam woman in 2016

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of involvement in the death of 28-year-old Rosleny Magdalena. The Amsterdam woman was killed in 2016.

She was shot at the Maldenhof in Amsterdam just after taking her 6-year-old daughter to school. She died almost immediately from her injuries.

The police have asked for information about the murder several times in recent years, including in the AT5 program Bureau 020 in Investigation Requested.

Surveillance footage was broadcast of a person cycling after the woman as she drove back home. He didn’t seem to notice. Moments later, out of the cameras’ view, the woman was shot.

Details unknown

It is not clear whether the woman was killed by the person on the bicycle. Police are not yet able to say whether the suspect who has now been arrested may have been the cyclist.

The arrested suspect is in full restrictions, meaning he is not allowed to talk to anyone except a lawyer. The police are not prepared to make any further statements about the investigation at this time.

After the death of the woman, there was a silent march in 2017 in which about 150 people took part. AT5 then recorded it.
