The Prime Minister Kiril Petkov must restore the strength, independence and leading role of the government and the figure of the Prime Minister.
This was called for by former President Rosen Plevneliev, who together with his predecessor Georgi Parvanov took part in a public discussion on “The Role of Political Speech”.
The discussion is organized by the Student Club of the Political Scientist of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
Among the official guests were the Rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” Prof. Anastas Gerdjikov, Prof. Rumyana Kolarova, Daniel Smilov and others.
Plevneliev said he expects Kiril Petkov to give a clear deadline for when Bulgaria will join the Eurozone. He expressed concern that if Bulgaria’s young people do not put pressure on the next phase of Bulgaria’s EU integration, which he said is under threat today, eurozone membership will not happen.
Plevneliev said that we are in a presidential republic today. Today we are in a situation where the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria is turned upside down, he commented. Last on the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, last on vaccination, last – misunderstood, and on the case with PCM, last on economic recovery, we are nowhere with the eurozone, added Plevneliev.
