The European Commission allowed Ukraine to certify Nord Stream 2 (video)

According to the head of the Ministry of Energy German Galushchenko, Europe welcomes Kiev’s desire to synchronize with the European energy network and abandon the energy networks of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

Ukraine will participate in the certification of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This was stated by Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko at briefing in Brussels on 20 January.

Kiev will be attached to the certification of SP-2 when the European Commission considers this issue.

“It was decided that Ukraine will be invited to certify Nord Stream 2 when this issue reaches the European Commission. This is the official position that we heard today, for which I am grateful to our partners,” Galushchenko said.

The issue of gas shortage in Europe and high gas prices were also discussed in Brussels. Another topic raised was the dangerous monopoly of Gazprom and Russia’s actions in the gas market.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock announced her readiness to consider measures against Nord Stream 2 in the event of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Recall that at the end of last year in the United States Republican Senator Ted Cruz unblocked the issue of imposing sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2.

At that time, on December 29, the chairman of the board of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that Nord Stream 2 is ready to go.

For the time being, certification of the pipeline has been put on hold because the NSP-2 project has not been finalized in terms of European legislation, and Moscow has begun to correct this by building subsidiaries.
