Regarding the tourist offers that there are in Jardín América, and the municipality as a tourist destination, Kornoski, mayor of the city, stated that “The season in regard to the Salto, the Parque del Salto del Tabay, the Municipal Park, is excellent,” he said.
He added that there is “a lot of concurrence of missionaries” before joking, saying that Jardín América is “a thermos away from Posadas”, referring to the kilometers between the two towns.
In addition, he mentioned that the tourists who arrive are not only from our province, but “come from Chaco, Corrientes, Formosa, Buenos Aires, from all over the country”, indicating the success of the municipality as a national tourist destination. It should be noted that natural destinations are one of the main tourist attractions that Misiones has thanks to the great conservation of flora and fauna.
Last week Jardín América hosted its already consolidated Tourist Festival, which had its 34th edition between Thursday the 13th and Saturday the 15th with different artistic shows and fairs with artisans and entrepreneurs from the city.

Kornoski mentioned that this year the festival had “a greater number of influxes due to the extreme temperature conditions that we have in the province” that accompanied people attending the venue.
He also stressed that after isolation due to the coronavirus, people can be seen wanting to enjoy the outdoors, to meet again, after some activities could not be carried out for a long time. He expressed that this is something that made society grow, because now “the respect for the other is noticeable”, since they respect the sanitary rules.
“Jardín is pure nature, it is the gateway to the region of falls and waterfalls in the province and we have nothing less than our exponent El Salto, which is the little sister of the Iguazú Falls,” said the Mayor before explaining that the Saltos del Tabay are “a geological fault where the Tabay stream falls into a canyon, the small Tabay canyon.”
“It is a place that has trails, that has multiple activities to develop” mentioned Kornoski, when speaking of the property where the jumps are located. He added that there are also private enterprises, individuals, cabins. He also expressed that in recent days “there was no accommodation available” due to the success of the Provincial Tourist Festival. Although now they do not have a census of the number of accommodations that the municipality has, the latest data they have counted 1,300 beds between hotels and private ones.
On the other hand, he highlighted the growth of Jardín América as a tourist city, and maintained that “In El Salto we have 140 places, that is, it grew infinitely. It is a point that changes the perspective of the local, it changes us completely. Because we became a tourist town. We find people relaxed, walking the streets, going through shop windows, shopping,” he added.
Finally, Kornoski commented that when they arrive at Jardín América, tourists will be able to meet friendly people, like all missionaries. But also with good quality gastronomy. He also emphasized that it is a municipality that has a financial surplus, which “allows them to have predictability in things and that gives us a lot of peace of mind to do the things we are doing, for example, in the Salto del Tabay complex” .
