Anticovid vaccination suspended in Lorica, Córdoba

In the midst of the alerts that the department of Córdoba is experiencing due to the increase in coronavirus infections, the municipality of Lorica reported that they suspended the vaccination days due to lack of biologicals.

“Vaccination is suspended in rural and urban areas because the municipality depends on the allocation of biologicals made by the department of Córdoba and the department depends on the allocation made by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. Lorica was left without vaccines because the department has not made a new assignment of biologicals”, said Angélica Pico, Lorica Vaccination Coordinator.

However, he specified that “the only biological that we have and in small quantities is the Janssen vaccine, it is the one that is being applied today from house to house, we also have available in the usual positions that is the old José Acevedo school, the old headquarters of Camu and the main headquarters of Camu Central, there are few quantities of this vaccine that is a single dose and that has its booster after 4 months”.

In another municipality where a shortage of vaccines is also reported, but from Sinovac, it is in Montería. Once again, immunization sessions for the population between 3 and 11 years of age are suspended.

“CWe completed 47,512 first doses applied to children between 3 and 11 years of age. Montería is the third city with the highest percentage of vaccinated minors. We are waiting for new biologicals from Sinovac to continue advancing with the immunization of this population”, informed the mayor of Montería Carlos Ordosgoitia.

In that sense, he also indicated that “the few units that were available are intended for those people who requested it by appointment and that there will be no availability of this biological in any of the points of the shopping centers, nor in the points enabled from the initiation of the vaccination plan.
