You don’t talk to those affected

The editors received the following letter to the editor regarding the article “The Benediktushöhe is waiting for new life” from January 18th:

I would be interested to know what activities have been carried out by the diocese in order to find a way to continue the conference center. How were the ideas of the volunteers dealt with? How was an allegedly promised quota booking of a foundation dealt with? Is there a decision matrix from the diocese that justifies the closure? There are many such and similar questions.

Certainly, the devastating decision regarding the conference location can no longer be reversed, but a review of the decision-making process and thus the working methods of the diocesan leaders would be interesting. It would be desirable if the Main-Post would research this topic completely and transparently. The fact that one does not speak to those affected or committed runs like a red thread through all areas of the diocese. Decisions are announced!

Editor’s note: The questions asked in the letter to the editor are legitimate. Of course, the editors have already addressed these and similar questions to the press office of the diocese. There is always an answer like this: ??Basically, the Diocese of Würzburg does not comment on confidential talks and negotiations. The diocese will of course inform the public as soon as there are any results that can be communicated.??
