The Bank of New York Mellon Corp. (ISIN: US0640581007, NYSE: BK) will pay a quarterly dividend of 34 cents to its shareholders on February 11, 2022, it was reported Tuesday. Record date is January 31, 2022.
Extrapolated for the year, 1.36 US dollars are paid out. This equates to a current dividend yield of 2.17 percent at the current share price of $62.90 (as of January 18, 2022). In July 2021, the group raised the dividend by almost 10 percent to the current amount compared to the previous quarter (31 US cents).
In the fourth quarter of 2021, the bank made a profit of $822 million (previous year: $702 million), as also reported on Jan. 18. Revenue was $4.02 billion compared to $3.84 billion a year earlier.
The Bank of New York was founded by Alexander Hamilton in 1784 and merged with Mellon Financial Corporation in 2007. Since then, the group has operated under the name The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. Over 50,000 people are employed.
Since the beginning of 2022, the stock is up 8.30 percent on Wall Street with a current market capitalization of $52.52 billion (as of January 18, 2022).
