In the last seven days, an average of 11,180 corona infections have been registered per day.
The corresponding average seven days ago was 6,865, so the trend is rising.
On Tuesday, 238 corona patients were hospitalized. There were two fewer than the day before.
74 of the patients are in the intensive care unit, and 49 of them receive respiratory treatment. There are five fewer on intensive care and six fewer on respirator compared with the day before, according to the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s overview.
A total of 538,791 people have now tested positive for corona in Norway, according to the National Institute of Public Health.
The previous 24-hour record for Norway was 15 January 2022, when 12,360 infected people were registered.
A total of 1,383 corona-infected people have died in Norway since March 2020, preliminary figures show.
