– Always be happy

Ted Vines’ parents tell the website that the boy was loved by everyone around him.

– He was always happy, funny and brilliant. Everywhere he went, he had friends. He had a special place in society, it says in the statement.

Glen Thompson, head teacher at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar in Alford, where Ted was a student, is clearly affected by the twelve-year-old’s sudden death.

– This is of course a very sad time for the whole school, above all our thoughts go to the family at this time, he says to BBC.

At present, the police do not know how the accident happened.

They are now asking for information from witnesses, and are asking anyone with dashcam footage of the collision to contact them.
