Prime Minister Mark Rutte will give the government statement of his fourth cabinet in the House of Representatives from 10.45 am, which will then debate it. This debate is intended to formally determine whether the new cabinet can count on the confidence of a majority in the parliament. Follow the debate live via our site and app.
The debate on the government statement is also the first opportunity for the opposition to attack the plans in the coalition agreement. Much attention will be paid to the plan not to allow the state pension to increase along with the intended increase in the statutory minimum wage. Measures to curb cost increases in healthcare have also not gone down well with the opposition.
