NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – At the end of a strong week on Friday, there were clear gains again on the US stock exchanges. The Dow Jones Industrial expanded its plus to 0.60 percent, especially in late trading. At 35,970.99 points, the leading index closed close to the daily high. It almost reached the 36,000 point mark for the first time since mid-November. The weekly plus is four percent.

The market-wide S&P 500 rose 0.95 percent on Friday to 4712.02 points. The Nasdaq 100 even went up 1.13 percent to 16,331.98 points. The technology stocks gathered there had suffered from profit-taking the day before. Strong price gains at Oracle and Broadcom improved the picture in the industry. In the course of the week, the tech value index has increased by almost four percent.

US inflation at its highest level since 1982 did not worry investors, as it was roughly in line with expectations. It was said on the market that the US Federal Reserve would at least not be under even more pressure than previously thought
