Windows developer Firecube Studios notes that the terms of the Microsoft App Store have been updated with new language indicating that Windows 11 is about to support third-party widgets, reports MS Poweruser.
Among other things, Microsoft answers questions such as “How can I improve the searchability of my widget” and “How do I publish a Windows app widget?”. Widgets should also be able to support web pages, not unlike Live Tiles in Windows 10.
At present, only widgets developed by Microsoft themselves are available on Windows 11. When the third-party widgets will become available is currently unknown.
