Last Thursday, the Community of Agglomeration of Bastia, owner of the Armand-Cesari stadium, brought together many players to discuss the renovation project for this stadium.
CAB President Louis Pozzo di Borgo was joined by Executive Councilors Lauda Guidicelli and Antonia Luciani for the Community of Corsica, as well as the President of SC Bastia, the Corsican Football and Rugby Leagues, as well as representatives of several festivals in the Bastia region.
Objective of this first working meeting, to define the main lines of what will be, in everyone’s hope, the last renovation of a stadium which has never been of optimal comfort of use and attendance .
While alterations were already made last summer for €700,000, this second installment, valued at €6.8 million, will see the East and West stands covered and rebuilt, the other two stands retouched, all with a work to bring the stadium alive beyond just Sporting matches. The objective of the CAB is to deliver the works during the 2024-2025 sports season, regardless of the percentage of funding by the PTIC, at 50% at present instead of the 80% initially promised.
We listen to Louis Pozzo di Borgo, president of the CAB.
On the SC Bastia side, we are of course delighted with this prospect, with the desire to include the supporters in the process. A more cohesive and comfortable stadium also means more opportunities for the resident club to earn revenue.
Sporting also hopes that the lawn problem, which is currently being assessed by a world-class expert, will be definitively resolved during this work.
We listen to Claude Ferrandi, president of SC Bastia.
