Explosions Heard in Several Iranian Cities

Iran’s military holds drills amid tensions with Israel and US

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHRAN — Local media and posts on Iranian social media reported hearing explosion sound in several cities in western Iran. However, the cause of the explosion, Sunday (16/1/2022), is still unknown.

Semi-official news agency Fars reported the governor of Asadabad City said he heard a “terrible sound” but it was not clear where it was coming from. “Initially, due to weather conditions, we thought it was thunder, but that possibility was ruled out,” said the regional official.
