Part of Florida is currently in the throes of powerful tornadoes this Sunday, January 16. Several houses have already been destroyed, but the human toll is not yet known.
Several tornadoes are currently moving through Southwest Florida as the morning dawns over that part of America. For the moment, they have caused serious damage in particular in the city of Fort Myers, made up of 80,000 inhabitants.
It was around 8 a.m. local time (2 p.m. in France) when the torrents began to ravage Fort Myers. In addition to considerable material damage, it could be that injuries or even deaths are to be deplored, although nothing has been communicated for the moment.
Many other major cities in southwest Florida could soon be affected, including Cape Coral and Palm Harbor. The authorities are calling on all residents of this area to exercise the utmost caution.
