Bills draw Gala against Patriots in NFL Quarterfinals

The first NFL playoff games guaranteed spectacle as the Buffalo Bills set a new record and Cincinatti celebrated their first knockout victory since 1991

The Buffalo Bills started the National Football League (NFL) playoffs with a dominant win. Last season’s semifinalists eliminated division rivals the New England Patriots 47-17 on Saturday, setting a playoff record in the process. The Bills had seven touchdowns from their first seven attacks. No team had ever done that before. Quarterback Josh Allen threw five touchdown passes, twice Buffalo was successful with a run game.

Buffalo also became the first team of the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to complete an entire playoff game without a loss of possession, a punt, or a field goal attempt. The Bills were up 27-0 just before the break before New England scored their first field goal. “We were ready to play, so a lot of preparation went into it,” Allen said. Next opponents are either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Cincinnati Bengals.

Shooting-Star Burrow in bestechender Form

Cincinnati knocked out the Las Vegas Raiders 26-19 in Saturday’s second game. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow used two touchdown passes to lead his team to their first playoff win in 31 years – the NFL’s longest active losing streak to date. The Raiders, in the playoffs for the first time since 2016, have been waiting for a postseason success since their most recent Super Bowl participation in 2003.
