The gendarmes intercepted a car driving in the opposite direction on the Leguevin-Colomiers expressway on the night of Friday to Saturday January 15, in Haute-Garonne. The driver was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics.
At the time of returning to Toulouse, in the middle of the night, a woman encountered difficulties in finding her way in the night from Friday to Saturday. Mind confused by the double effect of alcohol and narcotics, this 30-year-old driver embarked on the Leguevin-Toulouse expressway in the wrong direction.
The gendarmes were alerted by panicked motorists to see this car coming in front of them and a Psig patrol from Colomiers took the fast lane and crossed the vehicle near Colomiers shortly before 3 a.m. Flashing light, two-tone flashing lights did not prompt the driver to stop. On the other hand, she made a U-turn and quickly, finally in the right direction of traffic, she overtook the police car!
This time the military succeeded in blocking this mad race. At the wheel, a 30-year-old woman who, according to her statements, was coming out of a very festive evening. Her blood alcohol level was measured at more than one gram (!) and the tests also showed that she had consumed narcotics. Moreover, looking closely inside the passenger compartment of his car, the men of the Psig discovered sachets with grass and cannabis resin. The search of the vehicle revealed a few grams of cocaine, 70 g of grass, 50 g of resin and €990 in cash.
Driver and passenger were placed in police custody, a measure which was extended by the prosecution on Saturday at the end of the day. The driver for all of her traffic offenses and her offenses concerning narcotics, the passenger only for drugs, should be presented to the Toulouse prosecutor’s office in the afternoon. Both will logically have to explain themselves to the criminal court, perhaps from the start of the week in the context of immediate appearances.
