Computer system down by Oslo University Hospital – has set crisis staff – VG

DOWN: Ullevål hospital is among the affected hospitals where the computer systems are down.

Oslo University Hospital has set crisis staff after the computer system used at several of the hospitals in the capital is down.

Published:

The hospital informs that they are able to take care of the patient treatment, but are in a pressured situation. Since Thursday night, the messaging service used at the hospitals has not worked.

The computer problems apply at all the public hospitals in Oslo.

– The entire hospital must now work manually. Everything goes slower. The emergency room in particular finds the situation particularly challenging. As of now, the assessment is that the situation does not go beyond life and health, says medical director Hilde Myhren.

The crisis management at the hospital will hold an emergency meeting on Saturday afternoon.

– The hospital has staffed several places. We can put in additional resources as needed. The next step will be to ask for relief from other hospitals, if needed, Myhren says.

Oslo University Hospital is Norway’s largest health enterprise and includes the hospitals Ullevål, Rikshospitalet, Aker, Gaustad and Radiumhospitalet.

VG has contacted Sykehuspartner, which provides the data services, so far without success.
