Ferocious DHF in Mojokerto Regency, Regent Instructs Eradication of Mosquito Nests Simultaneously

Cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) are endemic in Mojokerto. Regent Ikfina Rahmawati asked all parties to simultaneously promote mosquito nest eradication (PSN) activities.

SuaraJatim.id – Cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) are endemic in Mojokerto. Regent Ikfina Rahmawati asked all parties to simultaneously promote mosquito nest eradication (PSN) activities.

This was conveyed by Ikfina following a spike in dengue cases in Mojokerto which reached 24 cases throughout January 2022 alone. One patient even died while undergoing medical treatment.

“There are PSN cadres in each of these areas, we need to improve (PSN). Because we are still focused on dealing with Covid-19,” said Regent Ikfina Fahmawati, Friday (1/14/2022).

The spike in dengue cases in Mojokerto Regency, said Ikfina, it should have been anticipated. Because the cycle of the spread of the deadly virus is repeated every year, which increases during the rainy season.

“When it’s the rainy season, everyone must be alert to anticipate dengue cases. Because one thing we need to understand is that there is no cure for this viral disease,” said Ikfina.

For this reason, his party instructed all relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) to immediately take steps to prevent the spread of DHF. Namely by intensifying PSN activities simultaneously and fogging.

Confirmed separately, the Acting Head of the Health Service (Dinkes) dr Ulum Rokhmat said that since today the PSN has been implemented simultaneously. In addition, the steps of fogging or fogging also continue to be encouraged.

“Starting today (PSN) simultaneously. We have also fulfilled the request for fogging. But we take turns, our friends in the field prioritize areas where cases have occurred,” said Dr Ulum.

Meanwhile, for curative treatment or treatment, Dr. Ulum admitted that he had held meetings with all levels of puskesmas and hospitals. Dr. Ulum said, rapid treatment of patients with the characteristics of a diagnosis of dengue fever will be carried out to reduce the risk of death.
