Gianmarco Saurino, the 29-year-old actor, was the first actor to play the first character who dies of Covid in an Italian television production. His Lorenzo Lazzarini, much appreciated in the first season, he dies in dramatic and sudden circumstances due to the virus that has brought the world to its knees for two years now. At the Corriere della Sera, the actor tells about himself: “It was right to remember all the health workers that there are no more in this country. This thing happened and we must not forget that they were there and fell so that we could feel safe enough. It has happened and it still happens.”
Doc’s second season – In your hands
The second season of Doc – In your hands swerve on current events and openly talk about the pandemic and Covid. The first episode, in fact, shows Dr. Andrea Fanti and his department finding themselves busy with the sudden outbreak of the epidemic. The second episode, on the other hand, will show the aftermath, how life has changed two years later. Among these changes, among these unexpected upheavals, unfortunately, there is also the departure of the beloved character played by Gianmarco Saurino.

What I think is that our series, more than anything else, will show a lot of people what happened inside the hospitals, because we tried to show it as faithfully as possible. Those images gave me goosebumps. If in the first season we tried to make doctors understand what they experience, beyond appearances, in this season the attempt was to show how they move in such a dramatic historical period.
Meanwhile, the grip of Covid does not stop. Yesterday, in Italy, still 184 thousand cases and 316 victims.
