With more than a thousand infections added, Curaçao has crossed the ten thousand limit today and now has almost 11,000 covid patients on the island. The fact that that number is just not reached is because 243 people were allowed to leave their isolation, because they are no longer contagious.
As of today, forty patients with covid-19 are in the CMC. This year has never happened before. Four patients were added to the Intensive Care Unit, bringing the total there to fifteen. The IC of the CMC has sixteen IC beds.
Aruba
Two people died in Aruba today from the effects of Covid-19. The health authorities report that one of them was not vaccinated and that the second victim had only one dose. Since the start of the pandemic, 184 people have died as a result of corona.
517 people tested positive today and are in isolation. 699 previous infections were allowed to be removed from isolation because they are no longer contagious. As a result, the total number of cases decreases from 3,008 to 2,825.
The number of hospital admissions rose sharply. from 23 to 39. Four of them are in intensive care, one more than yesterday.
Bonaire
On Bonaire, there was again a significant number of infections. 125 in total. 112 people were allowed to end their isolation, so that on balance there are thirteen more active cases. 828 in total.
Mariadal hospital had to admit two extra covid-19 patients today. There are now six.
