Battlefield 2042 looks more and more like the series’ least popular game. Buyers have scolded it with painfully low user ratings, and the rating average is even lower than for Battlefield Hardline. And the players? Well, more and more people are playing differently.
At the time of writing is played BF2042 of just over 6,000 players on Steam, according to Steam Charts. That is just over a third as many players as its predecessor Battlefield V has (17,500 players now). It is also less than five years old Battlefield 1 (6,300 players). Like onions on salmon, the number of Steam players has decreased by 26 percent in the last 30 days.
More possible gravel in the Dice machinery comes from the well-known rumor mill Tom Henderson. In November, he said the game had sold 4.23 million copies in its first week. Now he says that figure includes returned games. However, the information is not officially confirmed, so they may be incorrect.
Finally, Henderson tweets that cheaters are abandoning BF2042. A screenshot that is alleged to originate from cheat manufacturers states that recurring performance problems mean that the cheating does not work as it should, so the ass hats … sorry, the cheaters simply put it down.
