KPK Names Regent of North Penajam Paser Suspect in Bribery Case

KPK set Regent of Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, Abdul Gafur Mas’ud as a suspect. Abdul Gafur is suspected of accepting bribes for the procurement of goods and services as well as permits.

“KPK found sufficient preliminary evidence so that the KPK stepped up to the investigation stage,” said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata during a press conference at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday (1/13/2022).

Alex said there were 11 people who were arrested in the arrest operation (OTT). The 11 people consisted of Abdul Gafur.

EH (Edi Hasmoro) Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of North Penajam Paser Regency;
JM (Jusman) Head of the Education, Youth and Sports Office of North Penajam Paser Regency;
NAB (Nur Afifah Balqis) Private / Treasurer General DPC Balikpapan Democratic Party

For the suspect giving, he is charged with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption (hereinafter called the Corruption Act) juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, the accused recipient is charged with Article 12 letter (a) or Article 12 letter (b) or Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 199 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

Abdul Gafur Mas’ud is known to have been arrested by the KPK in a mall in the Senayan area, Jakarta. Apart from Abdul Gafur, there were 10 other people who were caught by the KPK OTT.
