The Dutch Association of Cinemas and Film Theaters (NVBF) calls on the new State Secretary for Culture to give perspective to the cultural sector. NVBF chairman Boris van der Ham says this in an initial response to the news about the imminent relaxation of the corona measures.
For the time being, it seems that the cultural institutions will have to keep their doors closed. “It is great that due to the upcoming relaxation there is a perspective for shops and other entrepreneurs, but it is extra wry that there is not for art and culture. Theaters and cinemas in particular have shown one of the safest places in the past two years. to go out, I can’t emphasize that enough,” says Van der Ham.
“Everyone is seated and the air in a cinema is refreshed every seven minutes. There is no contamination at all due to cinema visits.”
