WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging (IM) apps the low. The Meta-owned service is used by billions of people around the world. However, it has some limitations that are not present on some other instant messaging apps, such as the lack of a Apple Watch application. Telegram, for example, allows users to quickly switch between multiple accounts on its app. WhatsApp does not offer this feature, but there is a workaround. Here’s how to use two WhatsApp accounts on one iPhone.
How to Use Two WhatsApp Accounts on an iPhone
Dual SIM phones have been around for years, but for some reason WhatsApp doesn’t allow account switching on its apps. Thanks to WhatsApp Business – an official version of the business-oriented app – users can use two accounts on iOS. If you are unfamiliar with this application, it offers all the features available on the standard version and more, such as automatic replies and catalogs. It should be noted, however, that WhatsApp will mark your account as a business one if you are using this version of the app.
- Go to the App Store.
- If you are already using the standard WhatsApp app:
- If you already use the WhatsApp Business app:
- At this point, you will have two WhatsApp apps on your iPhone – the standard version and the Business version.
- Create an account on the one you just installed. This will allow you to use each of the WhatsApp apps for a separate number/account.
Personally, I only use the standard version of the application, because I don’t have more than one phone number. However, many people have two numbers for all sorts of different reasons. Whether it’s another number for work or a number you only share with a certain group of people in your life, now you can have a dedicated WhatsApp account on the same iPhone.
