You know and appreciate each other – The Trilux AG and the Monolicht GmbH have been working together successfully on various lighting projects for many years, for example for Fust and the ETH Zurich. With the purchase on January 1st, 2022, Trilux AG takes over the family business founded in 1997. Monolicht GmbH employs around 25 people and specializes in high-quality special lights and project solutions that are developed at the Winterthur site and produced by hand in its own factory.
“Unique, tailor-made special solutions are becoming increasingly important, especially for demanding architectural projects,” explains Harry Schulenburg, member of the management board at Trilux AG. “With Monolicht, we are systematically expanding our expertise and capacities in the field of high-quality architectural lighting in Switzerland and we would also like to consistently use the valuable synergies in all areas, from product development to joint sales and marketing,” says Schulenburg.

Subsidiary with a mind of its own
Strategically well thought out: Monolicht GmbH will continue to operate as an independent company in the Swiss market. Both the company name and the entire management team and workforce will remain the same. “Thanks to the principle of ‘local lead’, which offers our local subsidiaries maximum independence, we can adapt quickly and flexibly to the individual requirements of the various markets,” explains Markus Elmer, Managing Director of Trilux AG, the strategic background. The purchase also opens up new opportunities and potential for mono light, especially for large-scale projects. “Thanks to the excellent Trilux sales network in Switzerland, our visibility and performance in the market are increasing,” summarizes Michael Sigg, Managing Director of Monolicht GmbH.
