KFC sued by customers for IDR 4 billion because the order doesn’t match the picture in the application

PALOPO, KOMPAS.TVThe management of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) fast food restaurant, Palopo City Branch, South Sulawesi, was sued by his customer, Erwin Sandi.

Erwin sued KFC to the Palopo District Court with a lawsuit amounting to Rp4 billion.

The lawsuit was filed following allegations of public deception over inappropriate orders on the app.

“We are officially filing a civil lawsuit because an open apology cannot be carried out by them (the management of KFC Palopo),” Erwin said when contacted by reporters from Makassar, Wednesday (12/1/2022).

The lawsuit in the form of default to the Palopo District Court has been registered on the official website of the Palopo District Court with case number 3/Pdt/G/2022/Pn Plp.

The lawsuit refers to Article 62 paragraph 1 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection with a fine of Rp. 2 billion.

The plaintiff also demanded immaterial losses of Rp. 2 billion to the defendant KFC Palopo.

In addition to KFC Palopo, the plaintiff also sued the online transportation service provider company (Go-Jek), both the company and its partners (drivers) not for a fine but for improving its services.
