Today, Citroën introduced the modernized C5 Aircross SUV, which should take a more representative look, richer individualization options, new infotainment and greater comfort.

The Citroën C5 used to be a classic sedan for many years, but in 2018 the carmaker entrusted the traditional designation with a new SUV model, but with the Aircross addition. Last year, the C5 model line also expanded with the C5 X coupe SUV, but now the carmaker has returned to the classic SUV, which has undergone a well-deserved modernization.
This is a relatively significant facelift, which is evident at the first glance at the front mask. Instead of the split headlights, of which the brand became a pioneer, the new C5 Aircross again received one-piece flashlights, which, however, retained a split light signature thanks to LED daytime running lights.

The entire front of the car should have a more vertical face, which enhances the character of the model, while elongated lines and vertical stepped construction should optically expand the car. Also new is the concept of a logo in the shape of two arrows, which gradually become isolated and separated from the daytime running lights, while previously they continued to do so in the form of chrome strips. In addition, the centers of the arrows are painted black, while their surroundings are decorated with chrome.
In addition, the already mentioned V-shaped daytime running lights attract attention with a bar across the mask, which should create a 3D effect of “piano keys”. The LED headlights themselves underline the robustness of the car thanks to the dark black finish.
Under the front grille, the mask of the modernized Citroën C5 expands visually, creating a more impressive impression. Open and functional side intake grilles help improve aerodynamics and underline the premium look thanks to interior painting. Also new is the bumper protection decor, which can be glossy black or glossy aluminum, depending on the equipment.

At the rear, the changes are not so significant, yet the new C5 Aircross received, for example, modified rear lights with LED graphics and tinted glass. In addition, new 18 ”two-tone alloy wheels can be moved into the wheel arches, while the mirror covers and roof racks can be painted in glossy black.
In addition, the carmaker offers a new color design of Airbump protection elements and a new paint, Eclipse Blue. Overall, the color offer was narrowed down to the popular shades of Banquise white, Nacré white, Perla Nera black, Platinium gray, Artense gray and the new Eclipse blue.
The cabin of the new C5 Aircross will then impress with the new and larger infotainment touch screen, which has a diagonal of 10 “. In addition, the display is located higher and offers direct access to the air conditioning controls, which should improve ergonomics and user-friendliness. A 12.3 ”digital instrument shield then remains in the instrument cluster.

Also new are the new-generation Citroën Advanced Comfort seats, which promise greater comfort as well as the possibility of heating and massage functions. Thanks to new upholstery materials such as Alcantara or perforated leather, the seats and cab also look more modern. However, the range of equipment has also undergone modifications.
However, the center console also offers a more modern look, the decorative elements of which are covered with a fabric with a black leather effect and chrome edging. For automatic transmissions, it offers a more ergonomic arrangement of controls, the driving mode selector can include a grip-control function and plug-in hybrids have been given a more intuitive choice of driving modes. In addition, the console offers a spacious compartment with a pair of USB ports and a wireless charger.
„The C5 Aircross SUV, which has been considered the most comfortable and flexible SUV in its category since its launch, has now acquired a new style that gives it a more prestigious, modern and dynamic face. It uses its advantages, which are comfort, spaciousness and modularity, and thanks to a more structured exterior style and modern, high-quality colors and materials in the interior, it gains in maturity and character, ”Says Pierre-Yves Couineau, C5 Aircross SUV project manager.
