Rob Jansen hopes to find a new job for Ronald Koeman soon. The agent can imagine a return of Koeman to the Dutch national team, as Louis van Gaal says goodbye after the World Cup in Qatar.
“We have not discussed that yet. Moreover, it is up to the KNVB, they are about it. But from my personal perspective I say: a return of Ronald to the Orange squad after the World Cup would be a logical choice,” Jansen says. Football International. “He has proven to be a good national coach, the players were satisfied, the association was satisfied and Ronald himself too. But again: I say this in my own title, there has been no contact about this.”
Koeman was fired at the end of October by FC Barcelona. Jansen calls the period in Camp Nou an ‘intense game of chess’. “It was also very emotional for Ronald and his family. It was his dream job. And the outcome was anything but a dream.”
At the end of last season, hairline cracks already appeared, when president Joan Laporta asked for two weeks to think about the position of the Dutch trainer. Jansen added fuel to the fire by comparing the situation to a marriage proposal, but emphasizes that his message on Twitter was ‘intended slightly humorously’. “It was a way of portraying how unusual the situation was. Ronald was allowed to stay unless Barcelona found someone else.”

Still, Koeman did not consider resigning himself. “Running away was not an option,” said Jansen, who sees that Barça has made little progress with Koeman’s departure. “Anyway, we can now conclude that the situation of Barcelona was not due to Ronald. Because nothing has improved at the club since his departure. Not sporty, not commercially, in no way. And that does not surprise me at all.”
