WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram already have them: the story function. With it, users share short clips or pictures with each other, which are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Rumor has it that a similar function will soon be available for the Signal messenger service. At least that’s what a Redditor called u/Straight_Finding_756. In his post he writes “Stories come to Signal” and links to one Source code the Android version of the app – leaked from GitHub, a web provider for software development and version control.-
Where is Signal Signal?
However, the news about the new function does not meet with enthusiasm everywhere. One Redditor wrote: “I think stories are stupid and useless, but if it helps to make the app a little more palatable to the average user, then it’s a necessary evil.” Another account, however, says: “Wow, that’s really exciting, I really want that! With this and with a username I can probably convince many of my friends to get away from Snapchat and try out Signal, for example.” The messenger service itself has not yet commented on the issue. So far there are neither details on the concrete implementation nor screenshots, reports Caschy’s blog.-
