FOCUS CENTRAL CENTRAL-BOYOLALI- 18 residents of Dukuh Ngares, Kadireso, Teras have contracted chikungunya disease. The disease has been endemic since two weeks ago. Not only adults, this chikungunya disease also attacks teenagers.
The Head of Surveillance and Immunization of the Boyolali Health Office, Teguh Tri Kuncoro, confirmed the findings of the 18 cases of chikungunya. Reports of findings of residents experiencing symptoms of chikungunya were reported by the village midwife on January 5. The Boyolali Health Office followed up by conducting an epidemiological investigation (PE). on January 8th.
“The PE results show a total of 15 people with chikungunya. They began to complain of pain since December 28, 2021 with general symptoms that were similar, namely joint pain. Then on Sunday (9/1/2022) there were three additional patients,” he explained.
According to the head of the Teras Health Center, Titik Fauziyati, this case first appeared when four residents complained of symptoms of fever and pain at the end of December 2021. Then cases spread to this day. This case was reported to the Teras Health Center and followed up by PE and fogging.
The PE results refer to the three Neighborhood Associations (RT) in Dusun Ngares, Kadireso, Teras which were attacked by chikungunya. Residents affected by chikungunya ranged in age from 15 years and adults. Currently, these residents have been doing road medicine.
“There are only two people who are still undergoing treatment because their condition has not recovered,” he said.
He explained that so far no residents have been hospitalized. In addition, PE officers found two houses with mosquito larvae. His party collaborated with the village midwife and the local village government to carry out fogging in three RTs namely, RT 21, RT 22, RT 23, Dusun Ngares, Kadireso, Teras on Monday (11/1/2022). Because, not only chikungunya cases, cases of DB and DHF also spread.
“Judging from the symptoms, the direction is chikungunya. Then the settlements there are dense and a bit shabby, so it invites mosquito nests. So yesterday, village cooperation was mobilized to actively reactivate PSN so that there are no new cases,” he concluded.
