Will Smith recently released his autobiography called Will. In this he looks back on the fight he had with the director Michael Bay, because of a certain scene in Bad Boys. Smith now sees, nearly 30 years later, that Bay was right.
It involves a chase scene, when Smith chases a truck through the streets of Miami. Bay wanted Smith to have a bare torso for the scene in question, but the actor didn’t like this. In the end, Smith agreed to a compromise, wearing an open shirt.
Response
When they had canned the scene, Bay called out to Smith: “I just made you into a f*cking moviestar! Now the actor sees that the director was indeed right.
Smith sent Bay a copy of his book, which reads: “Okay Michael, you were right, I was wrong! The filmmaker shared a video on Instagram, where he jokes:Looks like he’s apologizing for the time I made him walk around bare-chested and turned him into a movie star“.
