If you thought the Samsung Galaxy S22 rumors and leaks were going to fade away by the February launch, forget it. Here is the latest information we have received regarding the Ultra model and the accompanying S Pen stylus.
Galaxy S22 Ultra S Pen input time will be 2.8 milliseconds, according to XEETECHCARE – not bad at all when you know that the figure for the previous version of the accessory was 9 milliseconds.
This more than two-thirds improvement in responsiveness should make the experience smoother and more natural for S Pen users, and could be another reason to choose the Galaxy S22 Ultra over the other models in the line.
A much more powerful S Pen
The S Pen with 9ms latency was the model that came with the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. A slightly different stylus is available with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, but there’s no official information on its input time, and that’s also true for the more expensive S Pen Pro.
There have already been rumors of upcoming improvements for the S Pen in 2022, including tweaks and optimizations on the software side, and this time around it looks like there will also be a built-in slot for the S Pen. stylus.
The same YouTube source also reiterated some of the other rumors we’ve heard so far about the top-of-the-line S22 model for this year, including the main 108MP sensor which is expected to be fitted to the rear. This should apparently be the first camera in a Samsung phone to support 12-bit HDR for even more color.
Analysis: the Note permanently abandoned?
The rumor that Samsung is improving the S Pen stylus that will come with the S22 Ultra is another sign the company is leaving the venerable Note series behind this year – we didn’t have a Galaxy Note 21 last year and it doesn’t look like much. likely we’ll have a Galaxy Note 22 in the next 12 months.

The good news is that other Samsung phones are filling the void. Along with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is also expected to arrive with S Pen support later in the year, although the screens on foldable phones might require a different stylus.
Samsung itself has made it clear that S Pen support is coming to more of its devices in the future – and we’re hoping those models will feature a built-in S Pen dock like the Note had.
By all accounts, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will replace the Note, and may even change its name to reflect this development. The design would be significantly different from that of the S22 and S22 Plus, and the photo sensors would also be more advanced. Everything should be revealed during the official presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S22 next month.
