Ferrari announced the new organizational structure under the leadership of CEO Benedetto Vinha. His appointment was announced in early June last year. Vinya took office in early September 2021.

Vinya’s main task as CEO of Ferrari is to lead the company in the transition to a greater degree of electrification. The official statement said that “the new organizational structure will take care of further innovations, optimize processes and increase cooperation both within the company and with external partners.” The former head of the supply department in the racing division, Gianmaria Fulgenci, has been promoted to director responsible for product development. Ernesto Lasalandra, who came from Vinya’s previous employer, STMicroelectronics, became the director general of the research and development department. The digitalization is entrusted to Sylvia Gabrieli, attracted by Microsoft in 2019. They, as well as the heads of the “Technology and Infrastructure”, “Sales and Quality” and “Internal Audit” departments, will now report directly to the CEO together with several other divisions.

Some websites have reported that Matthias Binotto will retain his position as head of Ferrari’s Formula One team. Binotto’s name appears in the company’s statement, but in fact there were no indications of his possible replacement.

His mention in today’s information is due to the link between the carmaker and its sports division, as a result of which the head of Justione Sportiva reports directly to the company’s CEO. Bino is in the column entitled “The following departments continue to report to the CEO”, as has been the case so far. Until Vinya’s appointment, this position was temporarily held by John Elkan.

Meanwhile, rumors continue that Jean Todt will return to Maranello. The 75-year-old Frenchman has been president of the FIA for the past 12 years. After his last four-year term, Mohammed bin Sulayem was elected to head the International Automobile Federation. Todd was rumored before the vote that he would be part of Ferrari again. He led the team in achieving the Scuderia’s greatest success in the Grand Prix. It is supposed that he can take the position of a consultant and be especially useful, as Binoto is not doing very well in Formula 1 politics.
