Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) traditionally receives carolers from Baden-Württemberg again today (11.30 a.m.). This year the meeting is not in the New Castle, but on the grounds of Villa Reitzenstein. On the holy three kings holiday (January 6th), boys and girls across Germany who are disguised as carolers carry the church blessing into their homes and ask for donations.

The carol singers write in chalk “Christ may bless this house” in the Latin abbreviation “C + M + B” (Christ mansionem benedicat) on many house doors. In Baden-Württemberg alone, tens of thousands of children and young people are out and about as the Three Kings in the first week of January in Baden-Württemberg.
