As he said, he did so – Lewandowski won the David Tomala medal, which took fourth place in the Plebiscite of “Przegląd Sportowy”. When he gave a speech on stage, he mentioned that he was putting up an auction for the Olympic gold medal in 50 km walking. After the Sports Champions Gala, Robert Lewandowski on Polsat Sport announced that he would like to take part in the auction. “I’ll check you when you bid,” said the athlete with a smile.
Lewandowski was impressed by Tomala’s performance, which he expressed after the gala. – Everyone has achieved great success, everyone’s performance was a source of pride and each athlete has a great history. But I was very impressed by Dawid Tomala. Walking 50 km is one thing, but believing in yourself, being able to fulfill yourself, winning Olympic gold is impressive. When I was betting my favorite for Przegląd Sportowy to win the Plebiscite, I named David. Because he showed that with faith, hard work and dedication one can reach the highest peak. I will remember this moment when he won the Olympic gold medal for a long time. Amazing story, said the captain of the Polish national football team.
Dawid Tomala announced a few weeks ago that he will submit his medal won at the Tokyo Olympics to an auction. Then the money will go to help 12-year-old Kacper Woźniak, who would like to start walking independently. The boy has to undergo an expensive operation.

After the Gala of Sports Champions, Robert Lewandowski and Dawid Tomala talked on Polsat Sport with Karolina Szostak and Przemysław Iwanieczyk. At one point, “Lewy” was asked what he would take from Tomala. The footballer admitted the Olympic medal. He put his words into action.
– I am always happy to help kids. There are good causes, I am always willing. I am aware that not everything needs to be talked about, but we should talk about this action as often and as loudly as possible. It’s not that someone is bragging about or doing something to the public, it’s just a willingness to help the kids. (…) Everyone should contribute a donation. There is never enough for good causes – said Lewandowski.
