The Congressional Committee will ask Mike Pence to testify on January 6th

That’s what Democratic congressman Bennie Thompson, who chairs the committee, said in an interview with the broadcaster NPR Pence’s role and thoughts about both the day itself and the days in advance are very interesting, it is said.

Trump had previously put pressure on Pence to try to reject election winner Joe Biden’s results in several key states.

“I think you can count on it before the month is over,” Thompson told NPR about when Pence could be asked to volunteer for the committee. Pence ended up being in one statement say he did not have the power to reject election results, saying that his role in Congress’ official approval of the election results was “largely ceremonial.”

The committee will meet next week, and plans to contact Pence are expected to be completed by then, according to Thompson.

Stormed Congress

January 6, 2021 Trump supporters stormed Congress in Washington DC

Trump was accused of encouraging his supporters before the storm, and was put on trial by the House of Representatives where the Democrats have the majority. The Senate, where the Republicans had the majority, acquitted him of the charge.

Several hundred accused

More than 650 people have so far been charged after the storm, which was an attempt to prevent the elected representatives from proclaiming the Democrat Joe Biden the winner of the election.

Donald Trump, who still claims that he won the presidential election in November 2020, criticizes the Congress’ ongoing investigation into the storm that cost five people their lives.
