LIMAPAGI – Mercury, planet the smallest in the solar system and the closest planet to the sun. This planet is only slightly larger than Earth’s Moon, NASA quoted.
From the surface of Mercury, the Sun will appear more than three times as much and also the Sun’s rays will be seven times brighter.

The closeness of Mercury’s position to the Sun does not make Mercury a hotter planet than Venus.
On Mercury, the Sun appears briefly to rise, set, and rise again from some parts of the planet’s surface, this is due to Mercury’s elliptical, egg-shaped orbit and slow rotation.
Along with Venus, Earth, and Mars, Mercury is a rocky planet with a solid surface covered with craters like the Moon. Mercury has a thin atmosphere, and has no moon.
The planet rotates slowly compared to Earth, so a day lasts a long time. Mercury takes 59 Earth days to make one full rotation. However, Mercury’s year goes fast, this is because Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, it orbits the Sun in only 88 days.
