This is an announcement made by Jacques Garreau, the Mayor of Bouaye, during his vows transmitted on video because of the health context.
“At the end of this mandate” in 2026
He said:
It is with great pride that I announce it to you, 2022 will be the year when the inter-municipal swimming pool project kicks off. Indeed, thanks to the support obtained from the Metropolis, in terms of investment and operation, we will be able to take a first step: the writing of the agreement which will bind Bouaye and the neighboring municipalities on a lasting basis to build and put into service an inter-municipal swimming pool. The validation of this agreement must be approved in 2022 by the municipal councils concerned.
Thus, at the end of this mandate, we will allow all our schoolchildren, but also Boscéennes and Boscéens as well as our neighbors in nearby municipalities, to finally have access to swimming.
Six municipalities concerned
Six other municipalities of the southwest pole of Nantes Métropole will take part in the work concerning the agreement to be carried out: Saint-Aignan-de-Grand Lieu, Saint-Léger-les-Vignes, Brains, La Montagne, Saint-Jean-de -Boiseau and Le Pellerin.
Next to the school
Land has been reserved for several years in the town of Bouaye in anticipation of the installation of this equipment: located north of Mévellière, it is located a stone’s throw from the lycée and the new Victor Hugo school group, in the district of Ormeaux.
