Brownlow has agreed to give the prime minister £ 58,000 for repairs.
Johnson apologized for not communicating the message immediately to his independent ethics adviser, Christopher Heidt, when the investigation into the case began last spring.
Asked what the plan was for the exhibition, which was to be organized by Johnson, his spokesman said it was an idea that would not come to fruition. He added that instead this year will be the UK Festival, formerly known as the Brexit Festival.
