Oil prices are moving towards another week of growth
–
Oil prices rose sharply today due to escalating unrest in Kazakhstan, a producer of raw materials from the OPEC + group, and disruptions in supplies to Libya, CNBC reported.
Brent rose $ 1.93, or 2.4 percent, to $ 82.74 a barrel, while US light crude added $ 2.24, or 2.88 percent, to $ 80.09. Both contracts are trading at their highest levels since November.
The political situation in Kazakhstan is becoming increasingly tense, and this country currently produces 1.6 million barrels per day, according to Commercebank. So far, however, there are no indications that oil production is affected.
Earlier in the day, the US company Chevron, one of the founders of the Tengizchevroil oil joint venture in Kazakhstan, said some Tengiz workers had gathered to support nationwide protests. due to which the local production level was temporarily adjusted, TASS reported.
Kazakhstan, the largest country in Central Asia, has been rocked for days by a wave of discontent that began with demonstrations against rising gas prices before giving way to chaotic unrest.
Meanwhile, Libya’s black gold production has fallen by more than 500,000 barrels a day due to the maintenance of oil pipelines and the closure of oil fields.
