The mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, updated this Wednesday the situation regarding the attendance to classes in the Public schools (CPS for its acronym in English) and again asked teachers to return to classes, since the most affected are low-income students, confirming that there will be no classes this Thursday, January 6.

“Those (teachers) who do not appear we are not going to pay them to leave their post and their children when they need it most,” he warned. Lightfoot.

“The safest place for students during a pandemic is the school … We are going to fight to get students back to schools,” added the mayoress.
