Manchester United are in a precarious position. Despite a very expensive squad and numerous stars, the team is not bringing the horsepower onto the pitch this season. The dissatisfaction among the players is said to be great, which has not changed with the change of coach to Ralf Rangnick. No less than 17 players should think of saying goodbye in the summer.
This is reported by the English “Daily Mail”. The reasons for the dissatisfaction are manifold: Some like Donny van de Beek, Anthony Martial, Dean Henderson and Eric Bailly are dissatisfied with their operating times. For others, the contract expires in the summer anyway and is unlikely to be extended. This is the case with Edinson Cavani and Juan Mata or Nemanja Matic, Fred and Diogo Dalot. Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard are also currently making no move to extend their expiring contracts. The list also includes Phil Jones and youngster Axel Tuanzebe.
The future of Cristiano Ronaldo and other top players is also questionable if the Champions League places are actually missed.
The new coach Ralf Rangnick is planning talks with some of those affected to clarify the situation and apparently to convince some players to stay or to extend their contracts.
